Botox for Excessive Sweating

We've all been there. You're wearing that shirt you've been wanting forever and finally purchased for an event you've been looking forward to. You're having a great time... until you realize your arm pit sweat is grabbing everyone's attention! Don't worry. You're not alone, and there's a solution for it.

Excessive sweating doesn't only affect arm pits. This condition, medically known as hyperhidrosis, can also affect the palms, forehead, groin, scalp, and pretty much anywhere. Luckily, Botox can be used to treat this and leave you feeling comfortable wherever, whenever, in whatever.

The FDA has approved Botox injections to treat excessive sweating. So, how does it work? Botox alters the function and ultimately blocks a chemical in the body (neurotransmitters) that activates the sweat glands. People who receive Botox for armpit sweating can expect to see results 2-4 days after treatment, with optimal results appearing in about 2 weeks. Although this procedure is not permanent, a single treatment can last anywhere from 4-12 months, depending on the patient. The treatment should be repeated every 7-16 months.
